Kuntala Satakarni ruled for a short period. His rule was memorable as Sanskrit replaced Prakrit as the official language of the empire. He was mentioned in the literary works of Kavya Mimamsa of Rajasekhara and Kamasutra of Vatsayana. Gunadhya and Sarvavarma, who wrote Brihatkatha and Katantra vyakarana, were also poets of his reign
