Simuka was succeeded by his younger brother Krishna (also known as Kanha in the inscriptions). At the time of Srimukha’s death, his son Satakarni-I was a minor and thereby Kanha acted as his guardian to safeguard the kingdom. He ruled nearly for eighteen years. He was the first to issue inscriptions in Satavahana dynasty. His Nasik cave inscription refers to the construction of a cave for Buddhists.
