Why in News?
As climate change intensifies through rising temperatures, erratic monsoons and frequent extreme weather events, Indian agriculture is facing increasing stress. Why Indian Agriculture is Climate-Vulnerable
Agriculture remains central to India’s economy and society. It supports the livelihoods of about 58% of India’s population, employs nearly 46.1% of the workforce, and contributes around 18% of Gross Value Added.
However, Indian agriculture is highly exposed to climate shocks due to structural factors.
