UPSC has announced the interview schedule for Civil Services Exam (CSE) Main 2024. Personality tests will be held from January 7 to April 17, 2025, for 2,845 candidates. Reporting time for the morning session is 9am and for the afternoon session is 1pm.
Objective of the UPSC Interview
The objective of the UPSC Personality Test, also known as the Interview, is to assess the candidate’s personality, character, and suitability
- Communication skills: Ability to express thoughts clearly and confidently.
- Personality traits: Such as honesty, integrity, and moral character.
- Emotional intelligence: Ability to manage emotions, empathize with others, and build relationships.
- Decision-making skills: Ability to think critically, analyze situations, and make informed decisions.

Place and Time for UPSC Interview
The UPSC interview is held at the Union Public Service Commission’s (UPSC) office in Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069.
General Guidelines for the Dress Code
For Men:
- Formal attire: Wear a formal suit, preferably in navy blue, black, or gray.
- White shirt: A white, light-coloured, or pastel-shaded shirt is suitable.
- Tie: A simple, elegant tie is recommended.
- Black shoes: Wear polished black leather shoes.
- Minimal accessories: Avoid flashy accessories, such as bold watches or chunky jewelry.
For Women:
- Formal attire: Wear a formal saree, salwar kameez, or a formal dress.
- Conservative colours: Choose muted, conservative colours like beige, cream, or pastel shades.
- Minimal jewellery: Wear simple, elegant jewellery, such as a simple necklace or earrings.
- Low-heeled shoes: Wear low-heeled, closed-toe shoes.
- Hair tied back: Tie your hair back neatly to maintain a professional appearance.

The board comprises five persons: a president and four members, including a retired secretary, a retired chief secretary, an academician, and a scientist.
