Technical Education
- The Department of Technical Education in Telangana is dedicated to improving technical education at both the degree and diploma levels. It collaborates with the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to manage the establishment of engineering, MBA/MCA colleges, and polytechnics, as well as to increase sanctioned intakes and introduce new courses. The department oversees 56 government polytechnics, providing diploma-level education to around 12,000 students annually, mainly from rural areas.
- The department’s vision is to develop skilled engineers and technicians with a strong work culture to enhance efficiency and productivity. Key objectives include training job-ready technicians and engineers, updating curricula to align with industry needs, equipping labs and workshops with modern technology, and promoting industry-institute linkages for training and placement.
