The Rythu Nestham program is being organised in coordination with the scientists of Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), focusing on ongoing agriculture and allied activities in the state. It aims to create awareness among the farming community through video conference units installed in 110 Rythu Vedikas.

The project’s objectives include enhancing agricultural extension activities by linking Rythu Vedikas via Zoom and YouTube Live, enabling real-time interactions among scientists, officials, and farmers. This facilitates immediate solutions to field-level problems and provides timely feedback.

The program also intends to build the capacities of Extension Functionaries (Agriculture Extension Officers) in utilizing digital platforms to effectively reach underserved areas. Weekly online training sessions are scheduled every Tuesday, involving PJTSAU scientists and progressive farmers. Additionally, officers from various departments will utilize these facilities to educate farmers.

In phase II of the program, the installation of 456 units at Mandal-level Rythu Vedikas is currently underway.
