The Manjeera Writers Association Meeting (1996) was held on November 20, 1996, at Siddipet, bringing together writers and artists of Telangana under the association’s banner. The event served as a platform to express Telangana’s grievances through poetry and songs, aiming to raise awareness about the injustices faced by the region. A key highlight was the contribution of Mallepally Lakshmaiah, who published two influential books—“What is Happening in Telangana” and “Telangana State is a Demand.” These books played a crucial role in articulating the demand for a separate state. Later, on January 19, 1997, these books were formally inaugurated during a Telangana meeting at Ashok Talkies, Hyderabad. The event underscored the role of literature and art in fueling the Telangana movement, using creative expression to mobilize public sentiment.
