According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) Quarterly Bulletin from January to March 2024:
- National Urban Workforce: In India, 32.0% of the urban workforce (aged 15 years and above) is employed in the secondary sector, which includes industries like mining, quarrying, manufacturing, construction, and utilities.
Telangana’s Workforce:
- In Telangana, slightly less than one-third of the total workforce, or 29.79%, was employed in the secondary sector during the same period.
- This indicates a significant reliance on the secondary sector for employment in the state, contributing to the state’s economic structure and providing job opportunities in various industrial and manufacturing activities.
