Why in News?

About T-Hub
- T-Hub is a Hyderabad-based start-up and innovation hub.
- It supports founders from ideation to scale.
- It connects start-ups with corporates, academic institutions, governments, investors and global markets.
- It has supported more than 3,300 start-ups and has a network of over 200 investors.

Major Innovation Platforms
T-Hub:
- anchors the AIC T-Hub Foundation, which is part of the network of more than 70 Atal Incubation Centres supported by NITI Aayog;
- supports the defence open-innovation platform iDEX;
- hosts MATH, a Centre of Excellence for artificial intelligence and machine learning supported by the Department of Science and Technology;and houses India’s first Google for Startups Hub.
What is Flashpoint?
Flashpoint follows a problem-led venture-building model:
- T-Hub and industry partners identify and validate a problem.
- Suitable founders are selected to build a company around it.
- Founders receive support from the idea stage to product development and fundraising.
- The programme begins before a start-up is formally established.
How is it Different from an Accelerator?
A conventional accelerator generally supports an already established start-up.
Flashpoint follows a different approach:
- it begins with an industry problem;
- selects founders capable of solving it;
- helps them develop and test solutions;
- and supports the creation of a new company.
Thus, Flashpoint functions as a venture studio, not merely as a start-up accelerator.
What Support Will Founders Receive?
Selected founders will receive:
- operator-led mentorship;
- infrastructure and laboratories;
- testing facilities and testbeds;
- access to existing supply chains;
- industry partnerships;
- support for pilot projects;
- and assistance with their first fundraise.
Founders will retain 100% ownership of their companies, with no equity dilution by T-Hub.
What are the Initial Tracks?
Kheyti Agri-tech Track
The agri-tech track is being implemented with Kheyti.
Selected founders will:
- join Kheyti as entrepreneurs-in-residence;
- receive a monthly stipend of ₹1 lakh;
- undertake sponsored pilot projects;
- and gain access to 8,000 greenhouse farmers from the first week.
The track focuses on developing businesses that improve market access for smallholder farmers.
Dhruva Space Track
The space-tech track is being implemented with Dhruva Space.
Founders will receive access to space-engineering infrastructure, including:
- cleanrooms;
- thermal-vacuum testing facilities;
- vibration-testing facilities;
- and ground stations.
This will allow founders to develop and test space technologies from the early stages.
Potential areas include:
- satellites;
- launch systems;
- components;
- software;
- data;
- and space-based services.
How is Flashpoint Different from Blueprint?
Blueprint
- A 12-month fellowship operated by T-Hub.
- T-Hub functions as a generalist CXO.
- It supports deep-tech start-ups moving from early traction to scale.
Flashpoint
- Begins before a company is formed.
- Starts with a validated industry problem.
- Selects founders and helps them co-build a new venture.
Flashpoint extends T-Hub’s co-building approach to the pre-formation stage of a start-up.
Conclusion
Flashpoint shifts start-up incubation from supporting existing ventures to building new companies around verified industry problems. Its initial focus on agriculture and space can promote practical innovation, deep-tech entrepreneurship and industry-linked start-up development in Telangana.
