Smart Meter National Programme (SMNP)
The Indian government is advancing its goal of universal electricity access through the implementation of Smart Grids, starting with the deployment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). This initiative, known as the Smart Meter National Programme (SMNP), is led by Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of PSUs under the Ministry of Power.
