Nano Urea

Nano Urea is a revolutionary, nanotechnology-based agricultural input designed to provide essential nitrogen to plants.

  • Development and Approval: It was developed and patented by the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO). Currently, IFFCO Nano Urea is the only nano fertilizer approved by the Government of India and officially included in the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO).
  • Structural Features: Compared to conventional solid urea “prills” (pellets), Nano Urea has a highly desirable particle size of about 20-50 nm. This incredibly small size gives it a massive advantage: it has 10,000 times more surface area and contains 55,000 times more nitrogen particles than a standard 1 mm urea prill. It contains 4.0% total nitrogen (w/v).

Key Benefits

    • High Efficiency: It is highly efficient in terms of nutrient uptake. It releases nitrogen slowly, ensuring the plant gets a steady supply of food.
    • Eco-Friendly Production: It is produced through an energy-efficient process that leaves a smaller carbon footprint.
    • Reduced Emissions: Because plants absorb it so well, it drastically reduces the amount of unabsorbed nitrogen lost to the atmosphere as harmful greenhouse gases.
    • Better Yields: It improves overall crop productivity, protects soil health, and enhances the nutritional quality of the harvested produce.
