Mahatma Gandhi Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Project:
This project is proposed to provide irrigation facilities to 4.10 lakh acres and to supply drinking water to chronically drought-prone upland areas in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district. 40 TMC of water is proposed to be lifted in three stages from the foreshore of Srisailam Reservoir.
Rajiv Bhima Lift Irrigation Scheme:
This scheme envisages lifting of water from the Krishna river at two different places: one at Panchadevpad (foreshore of Jurala project) and another at the foreshore of the Ookachetty Vagu project at Ramanpad, for irrigation in drought-affected upland areas in parts of Makthal, Maganur, Atmakur, Narva, Chinna Chintakunta, Devarakadra, Addakula, Kothakota, Pedda Mandadi, Wanaparthy, Pebbair, Pangal, Kodair, Weepangandla, and Kollapur mandals, and to provide drinking water to 196 villages in Mahabubnagar district.
Jawahar Nettempadu Lift Irrigation Scheme:
This scheme envisages the lifting of 21.425 TMC of water from the foreshore of PJP Reservoir to provide irrigation to 2 lakh acres in the drought-prone upland areas of Gadwal and Alampur constituencies, covering about 148 villages in eight mandals. It also provides drinking water facilities en-route in Jogulamba Gadwal district.
Priyadarshini Jurala Project:
This multipurpose project across the Krishna River near Revulapally village in Jogulamba Gadwal district has been commissioned. In 2017-18, 4.709 TMC of water was released for 1 lakh acres. The project aims to irrigate 1.02 lakh acres through the NTR canal (left main) and Nalla Somanadri canal (right main), covering drought-prone mandals of Atmakur, Kothakota, Pebbair, Weepangandla, Kollapur, Gadwal, Dharur, Itikyal, and Manopad.
Rajoli Banda Diversion Scheme:
An interstate project between Karnataka and Telangana, consisting of an anicut across the Tungabhadra river in Raichur district (Karnataka). Sanctioned during the Nizam State, construction began in 1946 and was completed by 1958. Water is supplied through the 143-km-long RDS canal, benefiting 15 villages in Manvi Taluk (Karnataka), 8 villages in Gadwal Taluk, and 67 villages of Alampur Taluk in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district.
Koilsagar Lift Irrigation Scheme:
Constructed in 1955 to irrigate 12,000 acres in Amarchintha constituency, Mahabubnagar district. Due to poor monsoon, only 4,500 acres are irrigated. The government now plans to stabilize the entire 12,000 acres and irrigate a new ayacut of 38,250 acres.
Palamuru-Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme:
This scheme proposes to irrigate 12.30 lakh acres in upland areas of Nagarkurnool (1 lakh acres), Mahabubnagar (4.14 lakh acres), Rangareddy (3.64 lakh acres), Vikarabad (3.22 lakh acres), and Nalgonda (0.30 lakh acres). It also provides drinking and industrial water to en-route villages, GHMC by lifting 90 TMC of water in 60 days from the foreshore of Srisailam reservoir during flood season.
Ghattu Lift Irrigation Scheme:
Envisages irrigating 28,000 acres in Ghattu, Dharur, and K.T. Doddi mandals of Jogulamba Gadwal district. It covers 25,000 acres of new ayacut and 3,000 acres under 41 existing tanks across 15 villages. 2.80 TMC of water is proposed to be lifted from Relampadu Balancing Reservoir.
Dindi Lift Irrigation Scheme:
Designed to address the needs of drought-prone and fluoride-affected areas of Nalgonda and nearby districts. It proposes to irrigate 3.61 lakh acres and supply drinking water to Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, and Rangareddy districts.
AMR SLBC Project:
The Alimineti Madhava Reddy Srisailam Left Bank Canal Project (AMRP) was started in 1983 to irrigate 2.80 lakh acres in the drought-prone areas of Nalgonda district.
Udayasamudram Lift Irrigation Scheme:
This scheme envisages the lifting of 6.70 TMC of water from the foreshore of Udayasamudram Balancing Reservoir (under AMR SLBC) to irrigate 1 lakh acres in the upland drought-affected areas of Nakrekal, Nalgonda, Mungode, and Thungathurthy constituencies of Nalgonda district.
