Collegiate Education in Telangana is focused on enhancing the quality, equity, and accessibility of higher education. The state has 146 government Degree Colleges (GDCs), with 22 holding UGC Autonomous Status and 94 accredited by NAAC. In the 2023-24 academic year, there were 48,954 student admissions, resulting in a Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) of 39.3%. The government has expanded its infrastructure by establishing 13 new GDCs and introducing new courses such as B.Sc (Honours) in Computer Science and Biotechnology.
