ALL PARTY MEETING

The then Central Home Minister, Susheel Kumar Shinde, convened an all-party meeting on December 28, 2013. Each party was asked to send two delegates. Only three parties—TRS, BJP, and CPI—were in favor of Telangana. CPI(M) and MIM remained neutral. Congress was believed to support Telangana. After the meeting, the Home Minister announced that a decision would be made within a month. The Congress had already decided on June 30, 2013, to proceed with the formation of Telangana State.

The Union Government delayed the declaration on Telangana beyond February 3, 2010, by forming committees instead. The Sri Krishna Committee was established and submitted its report to the Central Government on December 30, 2010. During this period, Kiran Kumar Reddy replaced Roshaiah as Chief Minister.
